Culture and Technology: Ninety Years of Dedication to Orthodontics The presentation aims to show how working with dedication and expertise can lead to extraordinary results. It introduces the Leone company, focusing on its history, its vocation for technological and product research, the importance of orthodontic culture and knowledge, and its founding and new values focused on sustainability. Leone is a company founded 90 years ago in Florence, Italy, which manufactures products for orthodontics and implantology. Today, the Leone Group includes LeoneAmerica and LeoneFrance, which distribute products in the United States and France, as well as Digital Service Leone, dedicated to digital orthodontic appliances. With more than 220 employees and a turnover of more than 30 million euros, the company is a leader in the industry. Leone started as a small artisan business and developed under the leadership of Alessandro Pozzi, who began manufacturing orthodontic screws in the 1960s. The company achieved worldwide success with the "620" rapid palatal expander. Continuous technological innovation has led Leone to develop complex, high-precision products using increasingly advanced technologies. The company has patented more than 100 products in recent years and currently holds 86 active patents, confirming its vocation for research, both technological and product. The importance of culture has always been central to Leone, which has collaborated with universities and professionals to constantly improve its products and support the dissemination of orthodontic culture through publications and educational activities in its branch ISO (Istituto Studi Odontoiatrici) and worldwide. The company is committed to high ethical and quality standards, treating employees with respect and promoting a safe and inclusive work environment. More recently, the company has focused on environmental and social sustainability, taking steps to reduce its environmental impact and promote gender equality and employee well-being. In summary, Leone combines culture, technology, and passion to create quality products that improve the lives of patients and support orthodontic professionals. The author hopes that this report will stimulate more interaction between industry, academics, clinicians and dental technicians to achieve ever better goals for the benefit of patients.
