A Journey to the Highest Offices of the British Orthodontic Society This abstract chronicles the professional trajectories of Alison and Jonathan who have risen from postgraduate students to the pinnacle of leadership within the British Orthodontic Society (BOS). Introduction The British Orthodontic Society (BOS) is a central body for orthodontic professionals in the UK, promoting excellence in orthodontic practice, education, and research. Leadership within such a prestigious organization requires a combination of clinical expertise, academic achievement, and professional dedication. Early Career - A robust academic foundation in their specialized postgraduate programs in orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, UK, provided comprehensive training in clinical practice, research methodologies, and patient management. Upon completing postgraduate training, the next phase involves establishing a clinical practice, both in the National Health Service (NHS) and in private practice. Both Jonathan and Alison published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at national and international conferences, and contributed to the development of new techniques and and establishing the evidence base for current practices. Professional Development and Networking - Active participation in professional organizations, played a pivotal role in career advancement.
