Abstract
3D Digital Orthodontics: Have We Identified the Benefits?
Over the past 20 years, the clinical practice of orthodontics has been radically transformed by the advent of 3D digital technologies. Customization of appliances, digital planning of mini-screw placements, record collection and aligners are some of the most evident examples. Recently, the use of artificial intelligence is also significantly changing diagnostic tools, therapeutic planning, and methods of monitoring orthodontic treatments. There is great cultural, scientific, and commercial interest surrounding these new tools. The aim of this presentation is to evaluate the real benefits of these tools, focusing on their real ability to improve the quality of clinical outcomes in light of scientific evidence and clinical experience.
